Up-cycling and redecorating the waste: An exhibition

Kachra Jagmagate Hum” – A two day exhibition was organised by SACHETAN on 26th-27th october, at Ghodewale Baba circle, Kota. It was the first time when we had it at open place …on the footpath. The team gave a lot of thinking on the site selection. And it was a hit..it succeeded to grab the attention of people on the road….the items made of waste as well as the agenda of waste upcycling.  The items like lamps, string lights, bottle lamps, gel diyas and wax diyas were made of waste plastic bottles, glass bottles, card boxes, fabric, etc. The initiative was to aware the people that how simple creative skills can help us to turn waste into beautiful items to decorate our space…and a small contribution to make the city clean. There was a big range of our smart buyers which included invited friends of Sachetan, other people in the market for diwali shopping and passerby etc. Some did the shopping from our stall while some simply inquired about the organization and the project. Some came forward with a business proposal and training offers. Hence, it was a wonderful experience for the entire team. It was not possible without the efforts and the support of the volunteers…Creative team included Piyush Agrawal, Sheetika Punj, Shaily Jain, Jyoti Vijay, Leena Vijay, students of Arena Animations Kota, Anuradha Singh, and Bharti Gaur. Thanks to Dr. M.D. Gaur and Yashit Swami for their technical assistance.  Loving Nani ji (Mrs. Sudha Gupta) was a great help who made the shopping bags from the newspapers and provided us to pack the sold items. Damini, Harshita, Narbada and Sonu were a huge support in dealing with visitors at the stall. Thanks to Saransh and Rahul who were there all the time and assisted the team. Few pictures for your observation. Have a look.
